so your saying I should go put the charger on my dead battery now. I have the same problem with my 07' and the dealer also replaced the battery as I was taking delivery
Well here we go again, Dead battery on an 09 Vette after setting for a week 1st time, then after nly couple days. Took it to the Chevy dealer and they tested it and said everything is fine. I said no, it isn't or I wouldn't be in here !! It is a new car and it won't start 1560 miles!! I asked if they could just replace the battery they said they had to see it in failure mode, so I should let it die again then have it towed in. I DON"T THINK SO!!!!
Just got off the phone with GM and they are going to investigate and call me back. Gee I wonder why people aren't buying GM cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YELL and YELL LOUDLY and then frequently! Call GM Customer Service Assistance and complain. Get a case number.
I have an 06 and it can sit in excess of 30 days without any battery issues. If you battery is going dead sooner than (somewhere close to 30 days) it should, you either have a bad battery OR an excessive current draw issue.
The only way that your going to really figure it out is to check to see if the car is properly going into the "hibernation" shutdown mode"
To do this you need to fully charge the battery and disconnect the NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. Insert a DC Amp meter capable of reading 10 amps. When you connect the meter in series with the battery and battery terminal, the amp meter will spike to around 8 amps and then slowly drop down to it's "hibernation" shutdown current draw. The proper "hibernation" shutdown current draw should be very low. The C5 "hibernation" shutdown current draw is .025 amps or 25 milliamps. The C6 should be something very close to that. I need to check in the service manual.
If there is excessive current draw or something causing the BCM to come out of "hibernation" shutdown mode, the battery will drain to dead very quickly.

More to follow
give that number to me, i know of dozens of 09's with this same issue. less then a week and the batteries go dead? thats just plain bullsh**
Called GM 800 get the run around number and got case number, they can't replace the battery till they see it fail. They did say that what the dealer told me to drive it till it stops again then have it towed in. wasn't a ggod idea, they said I could take it to the dealer and leave it there till it went dead.
What the F*&^ did I pay big money for?? Guess it's easy to say you have 100,000 mile waranty if you don't fix any damn thing!
I will probubly get pissed and buy a frigging battery myself and then I will be the Ex GM customer. And the Dumb asses will have a frigging black belt projest to figure out where there customers went!!!!!!!
I bought a new, actually ordered,convertible,3lt,Z51,nav,npp,6 speed.took delivery 3/30/09. Drove car all summer with no problems. I live in Cincinnati. When the weather got cold stopped driving car. Of course it warmed back up and wanted to go for a ride. Dead battery.Drove my C5 instead, which I hadnt driven for at least 2 months. Started right up.Jumped the C6 next day, drove bout 30 miles.3 days later, C6 battery dead.Dealer replaced battery, which I had taken out of car. That battery sits in spare bedroom. The C6 was always parked in reverse. Whats up with these cars and their batteries. This is nuts.
My 09 has had 2 batteries replaced since I bought it last April. I did have is storage about 4 months while my new house was being built. I only have 1400 miles on it
No argurment from the dealer though they replaced it immediately, but the service manager who owns a Z06 told me to use a battery tender and make sure I put in reverse when parking it. (6 speed of course).
If you are not going to drive the car enough to keep the battery charged, and you want no drain on the battery, you can always just disconnect the battery.
Guess you didn't read my original post, If I was letting the car sit for weeks I would have no issue, battery tender wouild be installed. The problem is the battery goes dead in a week or less. Thats Not Normal!
To fix the indexing of the windows indexing just raise the window and hold the button for 3 sec after the window is fully raised, then lower the window and do the same thing.

Yes, I did read your original post and yes it's stupid far battery to take a dump in a week. I will ask the dealer how to check for drains.
And, thanks for the window info which I can fix for now.

Thanks Stew, I've been trying to figure that one out!
BTW: I just bought and use a Battery Tender. Mine lasts about 10 days with the NEW Delco dealer battery installed in March of 2009. Not a problem in the Summer, but in Winter it does sit for some extended periods.
Had lunch with a friend this week and he said his 2009 Z06, 900 miles, can't sit more than 4-5 days without ending up with a dead battery. Dealer has swapped out the battery once already. Still a problem. I said - that shouldn't be. What's up with these things? Makes me think twice about the C6.

My 08 did the same thing a couple months ago. Two episodes in 3 weeks. Once at the airport after being out of town for 4 days. My work schedule is very tight, and I feared the same nonsense as you just went through. I just bought my own battery rather take the time off work to try to talk them into replacement when it was not currently dead. I feel like a dumbass for doing that, but the problem was solved and I did not have to worry about the car stranding me.
I guess if I had some faith GM would treat me as they should (and other car companies treat their owners) , I would not have spent $150 for something clearly covered under warranty.
Corvette Service Manual page 9-388 'Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test'

It isn't normal. Your battery should last at least 4X longer than that.
Any competent automotive electrician should be able to isolate the problem and determine where the current drain is.
Refer your dealer to the Corvette Service Manual page 9-388 'Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test' (thats the page in my 2008 manual). Your 2009 should be the same procedure.
If your battery is going dead in a week or less, then it has an average current drain of about 125 milliamps.
I measured my '08 3LT (with all accessories off) and its 16 millimaps -- which is in the normal range and should last several weeks without recharging.
