I just went to start my car and the display shows " service lock out" and my car will not start, I tried finding the solution in the manual but now luck. I have a 2005 C6 M6 any help would be great!!
Here is some info on it. How old is the battery? Its most offten related to not enough voltage for the lock to work properly. I would try to replace the battery and see if that helps. If its a new battery you could of gotten a bad one.

Could be one of many codes thrown with a near dead or dying battery.
Have the battery checked and/or replaced. And make sure that your car has had the dealer installed BCM reflash for DBS.
Rare '05 MN6 cars have had intrinsic column lock troubles, and if you don't have an extended warranty, just hope your isn't one of those!
So my car has sat for about 2 weeks without it starting, and I did not have a battery charger on it either, turns out my battery drained all the way down I put a charge on it and it fired right up and showed all system were fine. Im still gonna have the battery tested just to be on the safe side, thanks for the help

Reason: mistake
I would invest in a battery tender if your car is going to sit for more that a couple weeks without running it. It will monitor the battery and only charge the battery when it needs it and go back into float mode when fully charged. Yes get the battery tested and if its old I would just replace it other wise your gonna have this problem again. These cars are heavy on electronics and thus take a toll and the battery. Good luck.
