Running with open / uncapped headers is not a great idea. Too easy to warp a valve or create other temperature induced stress to engine.
OR---If you just want to hear how the thing sounds, think of a way to cap the header ends when you shut it down to keep them from cooling too quickly.

Malarky...it won't hurt your car to crank it with open headers and run it for a few minutes lol...

It might cause an erection that lasts four hours though...if so call the doc.

started it today, nothing great, sounded like my C5 with the cutouts closed and slp loudmouth on it. Not nearly as loud as with cutouts open but then again the car has no mods. I am sure that a cam, intake, heads etc would make it unbearable.

I did throw some kind of code as the CEL did come on. I will have to get that reset or disconnect the battery to get it to go out.

Wait till you get your heads and PORTED INTAKE! Yeaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Add a healthy cam to that equation and you will have NASA investigating systemic events in your area!

Has your C6 been tune? if not that's probably why it through a code, the 02 sensors are disconnected.

Yep, took it out for a quick beating too, felt mighty conspicuous. Dont forget to give it a little cool down time before you shut down the engine if you flog it.
