you have another thread asking about the z51(http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...ty.html)---are you doing BOTH a z51 and Z06 softening? or is this just a theoretical question(s)?

Can't be done. Don't buy a sports car if you don't want the stiff ride.

Any adjustable shock, non run-flat tires. You could probably go with base c6 shocks, but then you'd be a weenie.

Or get an F55 optioned car instead of the more track oriented Z-51 or Z06 cars. The F55 I rented was soft like a Mustang.

Would the F55 suspension make a noticeable improvement? I understand the F55 is not available with the Z06.

Thanks for the ideas. I would be quite a weenie at 6'3" and 225 lbs.

F55 is REALLY soft. You get two options: soft and softer. The sport mode makes the car feel like a base Corvette and the comfort mode gives you body roll that would make a Cadillact proud.
It is not a simple retrofit but you could swap the springs over and maybe put some Koni shocks to get a similar level of lack of handling, erm, I mean, comfort.

Thanks for the great input. I think the F55 is the best way for me to go. Best wishes, TT

Just because you're big doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't a weenie

But seriously, what are you trying to do? Do you have a C6 Z51 that rides too rough, or are we just talking theoretically? Retrofitting a functioning F55 system would probably not be cost effective or very easy. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the base models and the F55 have the same springs and sway bars. The shocks would be the main difference, I think.

You could always change the shocks and springs, but leave the Z51 bars. I think that would improve ride quality without totally ruining the handling.

We should have talked... I'm trading my base C6 F55 sway bars for the Z51 sway bars - could have saved us both some coin!

I have the base suspension, and can scare the **** out of my wife (me too) around corners without getting even close to the limit. I know the Z51 suspension is superior for handling, but I can't use what I already have with a pretty comfortable ride to boot. I bought what I can use.

I've been scared sh!tless by friends driving Cavaliers, Saturns, Subarus, Trucks, Suvs, etc too... The less control you have, the scarier it gets

I have QA1 double adj. shocks on the front & single adj. on the rear, they softened the suspension and work well with the non runflats, they can be tuned for drag racing, comfort, sport or tuned very stift for road racing.
