Just want to know what is normal for a 09 vert LS3 A6 with 273 gears. Should it spin the tires (Stock) from a dead stop when I hammer it? I know there are a thousand variables but just want some gut feedback.
I hear a little wheel churping but not what I expected.
My stock 08 A6 with 2.56 gears spins/squeals the tires all the way through 1st and gets some in 2nd with the T/C on... Goes up in smoke with T/C off.... If your using the paddles be sure your shifting down to 1st gear, the trans will start in second gear while in paddle mode if you dont manually put it in 1st.....

if your tires are warm and the pavement is a reasonable temp. it's not that strange that you get traction in 1st w/ the HP an A6 is putting to the ground.
I believe the situation is extremely dependent on temperature and surface. Mine is a stock manual trans LS2, but I can tell you that at night, with no sun on the streets and temps around 60 degrees, flooring my car from a roll in first gear results in out of control wheelspin. During the day, with direct sun warming the street and temp around 80, I can floor it from the same roll with virtually no spin. This was the case with the orig. GY's and is still the case with new Kumho XS's.
For comparison, I once drove a Hertz ZHZ, in Denver. Of course altitute hurts the power, no pun intended, but also it is an LS3... I drove that car in a variety of temps in the 60-80 range, during night and day, and it was almost impossible to spin the tires no matter what I did, even with a heavy brake torque launch. At the time I though Hertz had detuned the low end power to prevent people from doing burnouts... but now I am not so sure due to all the other variables...
08 LS3 with 2:73 gears, A6 will easily spin the tires for longer than I care to hold the gas with no brake needed. I would suspect more that you might have stickier tires. Mine does a lot more than chirp even with traction on.
If you have the Z51 option, you also have the stickier tires. By the time you get 3-5K miles on them, they'll start to spin easier.
My '08 A6 w/2.56 & std tires hooked fairly well on most surfaces for the first 8K miles or so. By 15K they would no longer hook anywhere without liberal doses of VHT.

My 09 A6 with 2.73 gears will spin all through 1st and get a little sideways when I hit 2nd .
Is this the one(Chuck Cow) where I mail off my Computer and he loads it with SW and returns it.
If you are going to do a cow tune I would either wait until he would be in your area or bring it to his shop (if you are close enough) the transmission tune he does is supposed to be 2nd to none!!!...The cow tune is supposed to be the best especially for a6 equipped!!!
My 08 Coupe Z51 A6 spins with ease in 1st and 2nd gear off the lights
I recommend getting a tune or going out and purchasing a Diablosport Predator, there is one for sale in the c6 parts for $225. These tuners are ideal for stock cars with minor mods (CAI, Exhaust) and only takes 10 mins to tune and performance gains will be noticable.
