Neighbor has 08 vert and during cold Indiana winter, his battery lost charge and had to be charged before it would start. He has one problem that he cannot figure out and maybe someone here can advise. the windows go up and down slightly when doors are open and closed as these cars are air tight. His windows will lower when opening the doors but will not go up and seal when he shuts the doors unless he uses the switch. Any idea if this is related to loss of battery charge or is it just coincidental? My experience is only with C5 C2 C3 so I cannot help him. Anybody have an idea? thanks Paul
Here's more information on window indexing. It needs to be done every time the battery is disconnected for more than a few seconds.
Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.
This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner's manual.
