I have not heard of dot 6

did the car nosedive when you hit the throttle in 3rd and you could detect the clutch slip?

Sounds like you're driving the car the way it's supposed to be driven!! I doubt it's any problem with the transmission, and if you have a new clutch I don't know why that would give a problem - I'm sure you got it to handle the power you're putting down.

So, I'm assuming the car is pulling power rather than the clutch is slipping.

Was this at a drag strip, or was it on a road course?

I've had a similar thing happen to my car a couple times at the track when cornering very hard and trying to accelerate out of the turn. Both times it had to do with a tire sensor problem. One time one of my sensors was transmitting intermittently, and the other time I had a hard time programming the sensors in my track wheels and went out without any of them programmed into the TPMS and was unable to go into Comp Mode and the AH was going crazy and pulling power when I tried to accelerate at track out.

When the AH system detects a flat, or a problem with a sensor, it will pull power when you try to accelerate real hard like a drag strip launch, or especially when you put some lateral G on during hard cornering. This is the so-called "limp mode".

Did you have any DIC messages such as "Reduced Engine Power", "Max Speed 55 mph", or "Reduced Handling"?

Was there any indication a sensor was giving a problem, such as a DIC message of "xx psi" for any of the wheels? If this was at a drag strip and you're running DRs, do you run pressures below 24 psi? If so, the limp mode can be invoked because the system thinks you have a tire going flat. An indication of xx psi indicates that the sensor isn't transmitting - the sensor may be going bad, it may be mounted inside deep inside the wheel (do you have some exotic aftermarket wheels with sensors banded/strapped inside the wheel?), or it isn't programmed properly.

it did not fell like the car was pulling and and very slippin feeling like only half engaging! but know dic error's and under normal drivin conditions runs flawlessly, tire sensor's are perfect and no burned clutch smell, and with the temp know in the 70's motor feel's great. after spending 1300 on a exedy. i thought i was covered. dunno

Now I remember an experience very similar to yours. The car was not set in any "mode". I accelerated and in one of the gears had what you describe...no DIC messages

So now on I press the mode button once and do not have that issue happen on the traction control....

If you had a "very slippin feeling" and you don't think it's the clutch, maybe it was just the TC doing its thing by pulling power, or maybe the tires were just spinning away.

The TC reduces wheel spin by the EBCM and the PCM working together. When the EBCM detects wheel spin through the ABS wheel speed sensors, it will send a signal to the PCM to reduce torque, and the PCM will reduce power by retarding spark timing and turning off fuel injectors. If that doesn't stop the wheel spin, the EBCM will apply brakes to the rear wheels until the wheel spin stops. So.....maybe that's what you felt.

These ultra high performance tires just don't squeal when they lose traction like tires used to do in the old days. With the power you're putting out you can probably easily spin the tires in 3rd and maybe even 4th if the tires are cold.

I know when my tires are spinning you can't hear anything to indicate it except for an increase in RPM, and it's hard to tell they're slippping unless the tail end starts moving sideways.

Maybe your tires were just spinning away!!

Like drivinfast says, try turning off TC by pushing the AH/TC button once to disable TC, and see if you get the same results. With TC off, TC won't do anything to stop wheel spin, so if you still get a slipping sensation it could be your rear wheels spinning away.

Or....maybe you've got a clutch problem.
