I have been having the worst luck ever with my new h/c build and now I have a TCM code p0716 which is output speed sensor signal. has anyone ever had this problem and is this just a random code because of the other issues I am having?? I have never had this code before I did the h/c install and even though it's only a 40.00 sensor I don't want to drop my pan and replace if it's not bad..

P0716 is input speed signal. I should read about the same as engine rpm at idle in park.
Also I am having an "issue" with my torque converter locking up still and I am starting to think this VSS could be causing my t/c troubles. The t/c will lockup one time when I take off and as soon as I "unlock it" by easing into the throtle it WILL NOT lock back up. I have beenhaving a misfire problem I thought was causing the t/c trouble but now that the mis fire has been taken care of I am still having problems...
Is your tranny serviced properly? You seem to be having a lot of tranny issues and its leading me to believe that something else may be coming into play here.
I just had it checked by the dealer today and it has the most current GM updated software in it..I do have a trans. tune in the car but it's been in there since the stall converter last spring and I have had no issues with it since the new found horsepower.
See if it reads correctly. If not drop the pan and change it. I hope your trans tune did not hurt it. You'll know when the pan comes down. I have read this can happen, shift timing problems.
I'll have to bring it to my buddy's work this week and have him test the sensor. I really hope my trans is o.k. summer is right around the corner and there are many track days ahead I need to figure this thing out
