So my parts just came in for my cam swap. Along with them is a new high volume oil pump that came with two different springs. My question is which spring should I use? There is a "High Pressure" (current installed) one and a "Standard Pressure" one.
Are you going with a system that is going to have high demand? I would use the higher pressure one I shimmed my pump to get and extra 10 psi out of it on my cam swap.
High pressure. I recently had one installed with my cam install. (509 rwhp). I have crazy oil pressure now compared to stock. Little extra insurance IMHO
High Pressure... With the tight tolerances that these engines have, as opposed to old metal where High pressure could cause bearing wash, there's no problem...
Make sure you use good oil filters though, cheap ones can have a blow out.
Well Im not sure what you mean by high demand. Im doing a maggie TVS system with other supporting mods and will be at about 600rwhp.
High demand meaning a system that is going to see a lot of rpm/heat/friction. Yours will. Mild H/C/I setups wont always need that 10-15 extra psi but it certainly never hurts.
