It depends on the state of charge of my battery/system voltage. If the battery charge is low, the generator puts out about 14.2 volts. If my battery is at full capacity, the generator puts out about 12.6 t0 13.0 volts. It has nothing to do with the status of the headlamps. However, if the headlamp are turned on and this causes the systerm voltage to drop due to increased load, the generator will increase current output by increasing voltage output.
