Default What are the LS3 stock, bolt on, cam only, and heads/cam RWHP records?

Roughly, what are the max numbers people are seeing with LS3s?
  • Stock
  • Bolt-on (no internal mods)
  • Cam and bolt-ons only (stock heads)
  • Full heads, cam, bolt-ons (stock displacement)

Thanks!

I have a 2009 base coupe 6 speed. Im running 509 rwhp with cam and bolt ons. Heads untouched other than valvetrain for the cam. These guys that post up that they are over 500rwhp a lot of times have milled heads, but say they are running stock heads because they arent ported. Milled to me is a worked head, it raises compression. Anyways, im curious to see who has the highest rwhp number with a cam/bolt ons on an LS3. BTW, the cam is a EnglandGreen Whiplash 2.

LS3 M6 cars with our G6X3 cam, LG S. Pro Long Tubes, cold air systems I have seen 480-501 rwhp with no head work, depends on the car and if they have done an under drive pulley, ported throttle body or intake manifold.

Milling of the heads will pick up both HP and torque and I have seen 490-510 rwhp.

Full ported LS3 heads 515-538 rwhp with a stock short block and LS3 intake manifold.

The attached graph is a project using factory Z06 exhaust manifolds instead of long tube headers. Still, it gives a good idea of what a "cam only" LS3 is capable of. For the record it had an Airaid intake, full Z06 exhaust system, and our cam and spring package.

BTW, thi is our ZZ-019 Camshaft - to get an idea on drivability and lope - it's basically 230/234 - not by any means huge but a GREAT power band and a sniff test passer.

BTW, before a war of Tuners and my cam is better than your cam thread, Im not saying anythings wrong with milling heads to go with the cam, but make sure if your posting up numbers you lay that out there.

Only a handful have had it done....most are done at home by the customers and do not mill the heads.

Not doubting that, and like I said nothing wrong with it, just want the ones that have that done to make it clear and not post up "I have 5xx rwhp cam only" when they have done a little head work.

The last forum member to use my 230XFI/234XER 114+2 got 504rwhp/461rwtq.

It was an independent tuner and install.

At 4 degrees overlap, its a great driving cam.

Cam only (no head mods) with bolt-ons.

My car made 441rwhp and 420rwtq with intake, headers, exhaust, and tune at HPP in Lewisville, TX. I was very happy with those numbers and HPP said it was definitely on the high end of numbers they've seen with bolt-on only LS3 cars.

Anthony, thanks for posting the unmilled head dyno. Good numbers. Its almost identical to my dyno which tells me.. I should mill my heads!

I'm surprised at all the +- 500 hp cammed cars and so few cars in the 10's on the 1/4 mi list. It must get increasing harder to drive when the HP goes up.

I know lots of Z06 guys locally who have never run 11's either.
