Just picked up the car from the tire dealer and almost seems like the car used to corner better with the old stock supercars. He adjusted the alignment to "get better tire wear". but I think that may have messed up the cornering? It is a stock Z51 convertible.

You are probably correct about the alignment. The fronts have a tendency to wear the inside tread out because of negative camber. They probably took out the negative camber which is going to make the car push in the front.
I would think both tires have similar traction, both the Supercars and the PS2 ZP's have a 220 wear rating.
When they're building the tire, they coat the mold with a substance so the tire won't stick in the mold.
I don't know how far you drove when making your evaluation, but you'll have to drive probably 20 or 30 miles (maybe farther if you're not doing much cornering) to get that mold release junk off the tread before they'll give you max traction.
