Catch cans Ca. legal?
Thinking of installing one.
After some research I found information about oil separator. Seems a better way to go and is smog legal.
Opinions?

A catch can IS an oil separator. Technically you are changing part of the emmisions controls so you could fail an Inspection but if you are just adding a catch can between the PCV valve and the intake manifold you are actually removing oil from the air.
Just don't add any kind of breather cap, that will definitely fail.
