Default wheel offset questions

I'm looking at a set of OZ wheels and am trying to calculate the offsets and how they'll work w/ my base C6.

The fact that they stick out an additional 17mm has me a bit worried, but it's no where near as big as the jump to the Z06 size wheels.

Anyways, will the OZ wheels fit my car well?

base
18x8.5 +56mm
19x10 +79mm

base widened... aka spinmonster modded
18x8.5 +56mm (same)
19x11 +88mm (22mm less inner space / 4mm extend outer)

OZ
19x8.5 +59mm (3mm less inner space / 3mm retract outer)
20x11 +75mm (9mm less inner space / 17mm extend outer)

z06
18x9.5 +40mm (3mm more inner space / 29mm extend outer)
19x12 +59mm (5mm less inner space / 45mm extend outer)

Default Ask the experts

Once you choose the manufacturer of the wheels you want, tell them whatcha got and whatcha want along with tire sizes planned, and let their engineers figure it out. No muss, no fuss.

That's what I used to come up with my numbers.

Also, the wheels are stated to fit the base C6, I was just curious about that extra 17mm of 'poke' on the rear vs. stock. Would that be an issue? Anyone running similar sized wheels?

I am running a 19x10 with a 65mm offset which sticks out 14mm more than stock. These just fit inside the fenders without rubbing on my lowered c6 with 295/35/19 tires.

What size tires do you plan on running with the 20x11's? And is your car lowered at all? With 305's I think you will be ok, but anything wider and it may rub. Heres a pic of my setup.

Awesome, that's the kind of input and pics I was looking for. I'm lowered on cut stock bolts in the rear, so there's still about a finger+ gap back there.

I'm worried about the rear being exactly flush and the front being spaced in further than stock... I assume it would look ok.

3mm more than your setup would probably be manageable. Do you rub?

I do not rub. I am lowered on cut stock bolts in the rear as well. Depending on the tire you use, you should be ok. I would think 305's on the 20x11 would fit without rubbing, but if you put on 325's you may have an issue. What tire size do you plan on running?

It looks like the only size that fits with a matching diameter to stock is the 285/30-20

That seems small... but I tried some 295 and 305 combos w/ a 20 and nothing worked.

Here are my stats:

ACE alloy "Slick" wheels

Fronts - 18 x 9.5 +53 mm offset with BFG KDW 275/35 tire
Rears - 19 x 11 +73 mm offset with BFG 295/35 tire

This set up gets the tire right out to the fender edge with nu rubbing of any kind, and my car is lowered a tab on the Hardbar Delrin lowering bolts. Sorry I don't have a pic right now, but the look is perfect.

Other bonus is that the ACE wheel clears the Z06 big brakes which I have on my base C6.

Nice... it looks like a 285 would work for sure since it would have a minor stretch on the 11" wheel.

Now a little twist.. I'm looking at an 18"x11" wheel with the same offset from OZ to run drag radials on.

Would a 305/35-18 MT ET Street II drag radial fit an an 11" wide wheel w/ a 75mm offset?

I'd imagine it measures a bit wider than the '305' it advertises.

Jegs lists the MT 305/35-18 as being 27'' x 12.5'' - 18''

if it actually measures 12.5" wide, that would be 317.5mm wide

I think that might be too much for the 11" wide +75mm offset wheel to handle...

I've read posts here where guys are running 11 X 19 CCW's with 79 mm offset and 325 Z06 tires on their C6's with no problems. With the 79mm offset, the extra 1" is equally divided inside and out. I'm seriously considering going this route.

The Vossen wheels currently on my car are 20x11 in the rear with a +75 offset. 305/30/20s will be flush with the fender and fit well. I have Toyo R888s on that are 315s and they stick out a hair.

I know I commented on your car before, but I really like that silver/comp gray look!

I believe I have the same offset wheels you do, but I am running the 305/265 tire combo. Are your wheels 10" front and 11" rear? I am hoping Michelin releases a 325/30 tire that's a non RF when it's time to replace my tires.

Thanks again. The fronts are 9 1/2" because CCW told me I couldnt mount Z06 front brakes on a 10" wheel. The rears are 11". My tires are Bridgestone Pole Position RF's in stock Z06 sizes. IMO they are better than the Goodyears.

The scale in the pic says 53 lbs and if you look closely it is wheel AND tire - same weight as yours....

I was assuming the 53lb one was the front wheel/tire (mine are 47.5lbs ea) and the 62.6lb one was the rear wheel/tire (mine are 53lbs ea). There are TWO pictures stating the weight of two different wheel/tire combos.

REAR (?):

FRONT (?):
