Default Need Help Guys

Here we go.... I have a 05 C6. Battery died for about the 5th time while car sits in my garage. I went to jump the car and I got a big spark and the car that was jumping my car cut off. The cables were glowing bright red and they were very hot. My car was also completely dead, not even the hood light came on and my car smelled like fire. The only thing I can think of is that I crossed the jumper cables, by accident and blew some type of fuse or maybe even did further damage as I checked the fuses and didnt see any blown fuses. I know, I am an idiot to begin with, but does anyone out there know what could have happened and also does anyone know what happens if you cross the jumper cables?

Sounds like they were crossed for sure. Try using a charger instead of jumping it, if at all possible. My 08 seems to go dead after about 10 days of setting so I just keep a trickle charger on it if I know that I won't be driving it for a while, frustrating but necessary. Good luck, hopefully the smell was just from the cables and nothing from either vehicle.
