I run them on my car, a SC'd LS7 with over 800 whp. I've dyno'd with the stock coils vs the MSD coils with no difference in the results. So they are a waste of money in my opinion, but they sure do look good. Expensive bling.
These things are the biggest piece of crap around. They've been on the market for several years AND have had KNOWN issues. What's even more disturbing about the bad product is the company continues to offer it for sale to customers when they know there are issues. Their current solutions to solve the issues are ridiculous.. they tell the installer or shop to run a separate power line to power the coil packs!
We just took a set off a customer's car which "all of a sudden" decide to start making "popping" noises at idle..almost like a stuck valve. The coils were less than 30 days old and had less than 1000 miles on them. When this started happening we hooked our computer and scanner to hit and when the pop happened there was "NO SIGN OF IT" on the scanner or computer... it never threw a code. So today we swap on a set of stock coils and WALLA... NO MORE POPPING!
STAY AWAY FROM MSD COILS!
