Car won't start.

Today, I went out to the car. The door opened OK electrically. But when I tried to start it, the engine barely cranked and then did nothing. The lights are dim. In order to exit, I had to open the door by pulling the handle on the floor.
Since it won't start, I need suggestions on how to get it to the dealer's shop.
I have never had one of these electronic-everything cars jumped. Do you guys recommend putting it on a flatbed to bring it to the shop? Or is there an electronically safe way to get it jumped?
Thanks for any thoughts.
If it's outside warranty, then I'd take out the battery and take it down to your local auto parts store. They can test it for you and sell you a new one when you find out it's bad.
Good luck

Can anyone estimate about how long it might be before enough juice is stored up to start my old jalopy?
Thanks.
My car commonly decides that whatever battery is in it doesnt have enough juice to start it. Each time, I pull the battery, swap it into my daily driver Cherokee, and the Jeep fires right up with zero hesitation.
If you own another vehicle, consider swapping the batteries. The one coming out of your other vehicle might be charged enough to start the Vette, and the vette's battery will quickly recharge through being driven in your DD.
That's what I've been doing for years.
although you may be able to start the car once, you may not be able to start the car again with out more charging. (vicious circle)
do not charge your battery with a trickle charger, you need to charge it with a battery maintainer with a float mode that automatically turns off when fully charged and turns back on if the charge goes below a certain voltage. with a trickle charger, you have the potential to damage your battery more by overcharging it because it does not turn off on on. if you over charge it, there is the possibly making the battery leak.
i would just go a new battery for $100 bucks or less and put it it....problem fixed.

The car started last night after four hours on the trickle charge.
Today, in order to maybe to avoid another dead battery problem, I installed a new battery. I had planned to get one this fall anyway thinking that 3-1/2 years in one of these electronic cars was long enough to expect any battery to last.
