I placed an order Tuesday for a 2010 Corvette and I have searched the forum extensively to find an answer to my question, but there is a lot of fragmented information. So here goes...
Can 450-475RWHP be acheived with just bolt ons? I wouldnt mind running a medium sized cam, but I dont want to deal with the surging, bucking or fuel smell in my interior.
If that's pushing it with bolt on parts, there is bigger power to be had by an A&A vortech system, just didnt want to bite the bullet on an $8k system immediately after my new car purchase.
Yes, 450(ish) rwhp with full bolt ons are possible. A mild cam will really wake it up though. Personally, in your situation, I would go very mild cam but get the heads done (WCCH/TEA) and you will be right around 480 with stock street manners.

Thanks Jay. You how it is, you had a 700+ Cobra before your Vette too...Just want something a little quicker than stock. A mid 11 second car would be nice until I could part with the $$$ to buy a blower.

TIA for any info.
You are talking about adding about 80 RWHP W boltons. The best LS3's
are about 380 bone stock. You can get A tune add Headers Port the TB
& intake. The best LS3's are getting a little over 420 W full boltons. With A Good cam and Head work they have gotten to 500+ . To get to 450 Cam only will do it.

I believe you are mistaken with a lot of this information you posted.
I know several have dynod 500+ cam only and several manual LS3s have hit at or near 400rwhp bone stock.
With headers and tune people have been breaking over 425 rwhp.
I guess I could be completely wrong, but it seems that is what I recall.

I can agree that some may have hit 425 with full boltons. For Cam only
they need compression to make that number 500. Spin has researched this
one thoroughly on the LS3 getting to 500 RWHP and they need head work and compression. The FAST has not done as much for the LS3 and LS& as it done for the LS2.
You can get a cam with NO surging and gas smell. Spin has a cam with an auto or stick with FULL bolt ons, close to 500 rwhp. The key will be a good tuner to get it all right. There are some good shop on the forum that can get you that also. There are proven packages out there with many shops, Make some calls, take you time and you will meet your goals.
My LS3 put 424/421 down on a mustang dyno with LG 1 3/4" Pro long tubes with a vararam and a Tom Wong tune. So if you figure 50-60 hp loss in the drivetrain that's 475-485 horsepower at the crank before any gain from the vararam at speed. With the LS3 you don't need a cam to reach the power levels you want.
