Default Where to look for LS7 engine?

I'm debating on putting after market heads on my LS2, or buying a LS7.

Where (other than the C6 parts section) would I find the best price on a LS7? Sould I stay away from used? If not, what should I look to pay for a used LS7?

Thanks!

We can offer a forged balanced and blue printed 427 cid HKE precision racing engine to you for around $13,500. Premium heads, springs and rockers, custom Comp cam and make some serious power.

We custom build for each customer, we don't subscribe to the one size on the shelf fits all.

I will be selling my complete, running LS7 out of my 2006 ZO6 in a week. 15k miles on it, its still in the car and running if you want to hear it run or take it for a spin. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Save money and have one built properly. The LS7 is strong, but there are several weak links (pistons, sleeves, etc). You should consider the LSX for a foundation as well.

Thanks.

Where can I find info on LSX engines? I tried search but it brought up everything but LSX in the thread titles.

GM Performance Parts. Understand this is an iron block with all the associated weight, but capable of extreme bore, stroke and HP for any application.

The LSX is the big daddy iron block from GM. You can build a 402 cid to a 454 cid with it.

Most guys that are going forced induction or heavy nitrous look to this block for strength and durability. If your staying naturally aspirated you don't need it. It just adds weight and no real value over a lighter weight aluminum block.

We can build you a 427 a couple different ways. Using an L92 block or a re-sleeved LS2 block. The 427 above was for a re-sleeved LS2 block

It ( the LSX block) is not capable of extreme stroke though unless your looking at the tall deck and then that presents a whole new can of worms. We go with a 4.185 x 4.125 stroke max on the regular LSX block. You can achieve the same with a re-sleeved LS2 block.

No idea if this helps, or is a good price, or whatever, but I noticed on Parts Taxi the other day that the LS7 was on sale for just under $10K. I'm assuming that's a new long block, but dunno.

He is definately top notch LS7 Builder, also contact BGBoost on here. He builds an LS7 into a thing of artwork. For the money you would spend on a new LS7, you can have one bad a** custom from either of these builders.

The guys looking for LSX stuff, I'd be glad to help. I have a few sets of the heads in stock and I think still 1 block left, but can always get more.

Thanks
Kevin

Don't let the weight of the LSX block scare you. Guys make too much of a big deal about it if you ask me...I'd argue my point with any aluminum block guy out there if they want to find out what my "Battleship" can do with the "Anchor" I have under the hood
