yesterday I started my cam install. with the help of a good friend of mine we got the cam in there and the springs changed out. I sent the intake and throttle body off for port and polish. I'm going to finish the cam install this weekend then I'm waiting on the back glass to get replaced before I take it to the dyno for tuning. so hopefully the glass will be here by tuesday next week. thinking I'm going to install most of the nitrous kit at the sametime as the rest of this cam project but can't mount the bottle till the back glass gets fixed and then tune everything at one time. it should be great. I went with the England green whiplash cam. ud pully and high flow oil pump. decided today to go with a double roller timing chain so it should be a very fun car once it all gets put together.
lol no I bought the nitrous before I got the back window broke. one tech tip though if the valve changing tool I got sent to me is for an LS engine there is a different bolt patteren for the LS3 because I had to modify the tool to make it work the holes were 1/8 inch wider and there is a hump in the heads that didn't alow it to sit flush. took about 20 mins to file the holes longer and to gind out the back so it sits flush.

What a bummer. I guess in that time you could of pulled the Heads and
went after some compression as well. good luck with the rest of it.
thought about puling the heads and doing that but with the size of that cam I'm not sure if I would have to fly cutt to make it work with more compresson so I will just leave it alone for now. plus with putting it on the bottle that should be good for now.

I know this. The LS3 needs compresion to make Hp/TQ and if you dont get that up to 11.3 Compression and you are running a cam with a decent amount of overlap you will suffer. Much has been proven about this and
the 230xfi 234xer is A excellent choice . You have not mentioned the size Cam you decided on.
I went with the EnglandGreen whiplash cam. don't know the specs on it. as they don't put that info out. and as for loosing horsepower and torque that's why I have the bottle for a little extra.
well today I went to put the double roller on and the high flow oil pump well that won't work at all but got everything to fit with the stock oil pump though. wasn't too bad once we realized that we had to use the stock pump no matter what. but everything is back together except the intake and throttle body stuff that should be here wednesday. can't wait to have that beast up and running.

You should have the SPECS. You need to know if Flycutting is necessary.
As far as the bottle is concerned remember it only opens at WOT which is
not necessarily agressive street driving. Track, YES. I was considering it myself. I still think the compression bumb or lack of leaves much on the Table.
Did you buy the cam package from Stephen and Jason?
I bought it off the forum when they were doing there everything but the kitchen sink sale I decided to go double roller after I keep hearing about the stock timing chains breaking. and I put the stock oil pump in there.
as far as the specs I would like to know them but england green already posted on here that I would have to flycut the pistons which I'm not wanting to do. so I'll leave the compression alone and enjoy what I have. it should be a nice bump in horsepower anyway. and with the bottle it's more than the street tires can handle so it's all good even if I am leaving some on the table.
