Default V1 to HUD interface progress.

Update:
Major progress made in last few days.
  • Fully able to command the C6 HUD!
  • Fully decoded entire navigation symbol set.
  • Fully decoded distance-to-go number string. I have the equation to properly calculate the four byte distance word.
  • Fully decoded distance meter number string.
  • Fully decoded AM/FM station strings.
  • Fully decoded CD track and folder strings.
  • Fully decoded HUD text strings.
  • Fully decoded DIC text strings.
  • Already have hardware and software designed and implemented that reads the V1 data as part of another project.

I can now do the following:
  • Control the distance meter between 0-100% full.
  • Control the numerical distance value between 0-2,669,339.5 miles (no I didn't try to go that high, but that is the maximum value that can be stored in the 4 byte word given how it's scaled).
  • Command the HUD to display any AM/FM preset or CD folder/track.

Working on the following:
  • Place text on HUD.
  • Place text on DIC.

As a taste, here is the entire navigation symbol set. Note there are symbols for going around a circle clockwise and counterclockwise. I guess the HUD is flexible enough to be used in "backwards places!"

Follow progress here: http://sites.google.com/site/c6v1hud/

You can see a video on my site of each of the navigation symbols available as I sequentially command the HUD to project them.

I don't have plans to sell this. I will post the plans and you can make them yourself. When/If I'm done.

That is cool. Man do I love technology. Many people complain about all the gadgets and gizmoozs in the late model Vettes but I for one like the feeling that i'm in a fighter jet.

Good job man. Any plans on changing the color of the HUD???
