Default How to go offroad?

Once upon a time I had a 05 Mustang GT. Slapped an off-road H pipe on there and the sound was to die for. To this day I still have people talking about it. With that said I am curious if they make cat delete pipes that bolt directly between the factory headers and H pipe where the cats are. Anyone know of where I can get them??
Thanks gentlemen!

Never seen anything like that. Besides I think the factory manifolds will need replaced by headers for any decent sound improvement.

Just punch your cats out and reinstall them...easy.

Your corvette will NEVER sound as good as your GT though. It will always posess a more european tone (unfortunately).

You can buy them every day. I had the KOOKS offroad for a couple of years but got tired of the odor.

You can simply go to a performance muffler shop, ask them to cut out your cats and install pipe. The charge in labor will not be cheap since it is not legal.

I came from the Mustang world too, and although it does sound nice, I think the vette sounds better

i miss the sound of my heads/cam/intake/vortech v1 5.0 mustang with longtubes, offroad X pipe, and borla race mufflers
too bad it only made the same horsepower and my corvette with headers it did feel a lot faster though.

I would prefer to have the seperate down pipes instead of ruin my cats so that I can put it back to stock when I sell it, or if I dont like it catless. Someone has to be selling these pipes already right?? I can't be the first one can I?

That is exactly correct.

There is no point for what he wants to be made because no one would ever run shorty headers, so there is no need for an offroad connection pipe from the manifolds to the x-pipe.

I'm not so sure about that...it depends on what all you do to your Corvette. I've heard some amazing sounding Corvette's at the track. There's nothing 'Euro' about the sound of my car. It may sound different than a Mustang but just as good to my ear.

No matter what you do to a corvette it will never have the same V8 tone that the Mustangs get

Also, I see that you have Corsa Sports, which are the most euro sounding of all the exhausts available for the corvette. Maybe it sounds a little better with your 403 though What I do know is that 95% of all corvettes that I've heard sound **** poor compared to an LS1 Fbody or Late model Mustang.

Well I'll be damned

Word of warning though, unless you get rid of the gigantic mufflers that are stock on the C6 I doubt you'll notice much difference. Even longtubes going through the stock mufflers are VERY quiet.

If it were me and I didnt want headers I would probably use those offroad pipes and cut off the stock mufflers and run straight pipes. With the stock manifolds the volume shouldn't be too bad and would have a nice, deep tone.

So now that you found catless pipes is it better to use them or punched out cats. I know where I now live the emission test is a visual inspection. No cats would mean failed emissions. Punched out cats still pass.
