I dunno!?!?

However, I think a kit like this will have everything:

Butt.....the real knowledgeable guys (Richie Rich, talon90, GTPrix, etc.)will hopefully chime in soon.

I think one of the problems is keeping it current after you get it. To get a subscription you probably need to be affiliated with GM, or know somebody at a dealership that can give you access to updating the software.

I'm sure not in the market for one, but that's a great idea to get one, and I'll be watching the thread!!!

I know they are expensive but were made by Vetronix. I think I remember seeing Vetronix was bought out by someone else now. Last time I looked, they were like $3500 but its been a long time.

I have one and it has saved me hundreds of dollars, maybe thousands so far. While it won't tell you where a leak is, it can tell you if something is wrong as triggered by sensors, switches, etc. You will need to get a buddy at the dealership. Occasionally the Tech 2 needs to be updated and a tech at the dealership can do this for you. The only thing you won't be able to do is program a module like the BCM or ECM. Those functions require an expensive subscription to GM's Service Information (SI) database. The other option would be to make friends with a GM tech and have him do it for you. Other than that, you can test anything, reset, recalibrate, scan, clear or whatever you need to do. It's the best tool you can have in my opinion. Good luck.

Sorry, I didn't really answer your question. You will need to buy a Tech 2 kit with a CANdi module. It should come with all necessary cables as well as the correct obdII plug. Be sure to buy the kit and not seperate pieces. I bought mine online brand new and it came with a warranty as well. Just research it a bit and buy from a reputable company. Good luck.
