The only issue I'd have with that is the possible bias of them wanting him to buy new from them.

Honestly they don't look that bad and I can't see a major, if any, power or performance loss. The question you have to ask yourself is, will the amount of money you save offset the possible loss of peace of mind. Only you can answer that.

This is a legitimate point, if you don't have them repaired.
Different flow rates and exhaust pressures would definately occur under WOT and at high rpms if you didn't have them properly repaired.

I would not knowingly drive my race car with the damage to those headers, but as Anthony once told me "If you aren't at 4000 rpm, you are in the wrong gear."

Do you drive your car at 4000+ RPM for 30-45 minutes at a time?

If you have them properly repaired, I doubt that you will have any problem with them at all.

BTW, if Spin gives the thumbs up, I wouldn't worry about them.

They sold to someone else so i guess its a mute point now. But...

Since i am hooked on HPDEs now its probably best to have waited. 30-45+ min no but 20-25 min sessions 4 times in a day twice in a weekend would probably count. From what was said the cost to get them replaced would probably be putting them back close to what I bought them for without cats.

For now I will just wait and get a brand new set and do it right with a few other mods i have planned.

Also if down the road i was thinking heads/cam id rather have everything perfect than questionable.

Thanks again for all the comments. They dents looks small, but as i want my car to last basically till it dies, id rather not do anything to even minorly throw off the balance of the engine.

Not to mention you could offer the seller less! Tell them you will buy them and deal with any potential headaches for $800
