Oil change
This may not sound too challanging to some of you, but it was a bit harder than I thought.
The Mobil 1 was on sale at Walmart for $21 for 5 quarts, the 6th quart was 6.76, the filter $3.46, but I needed a new catch pan, so it was $42 total.
My trusty metal ramps needed lots of wood of various sizes in front to not catch the front air dam. Got out my saw to make those fit.
Once up on the ramps, I could see my oil drain bolt had been abused by the dealer, 1/2 of it was rounded off. This made getting the right sized socket (13 mm after a process of elimination) need to be hammered on.
While the oil drained, I went to the dealer and bought a new bolt (only $4.10 I was surprised), and saw it was 15 mm. The threaded part is the same, has the built in blue rubber seal, just now it's larger at the end. A good idea from looking at my old one.
Well, of course, none of my oil filter cap wrenches fit the filter, so off for a search. Kragen has one that fits for $5, and works.
So 4 hours later, my oil is changed.

Next time I can do it a bit quicker I'll bet.
Oh, and the "oil life" reset procedure takes a bit of reading to find.
Just display it, and hold reset for a few seconds.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

It's good therapy. I have been driving for 50 years (
), and have had a "professional" change only four times. Enjoy!
Oil changes I've got down though lol. However the first time I changed the oil in my mustang when I was 16 I failed to notice the gasket on the filter stuck to the block. So when I started it the car promptly blew several quarts of oil on the ground.

, I think we can all use a
.
