I was looking at new timing chains and wondering if there is a difference between the regular IWIS timing chain and the C5R IWIS timing chain. They are both listed on lingenfelters websitehttp://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...egory_Code=C38 but the description is the same and the differnce in price is 100 bucks. Any input?
340 bucks that is insane! I cant believe it. I think I will go with the C5R
I have spent $360 on JUST a chain. It is now an obsolete part made by cloyes as double rollers have eliminated the market for them, but they were the strongest single roller chains available for our cars with the data to back them up.
What's the price of your motor worth? It's easily worth $360 just for a chain in my case as I snapped the TC on my old LS3 coupe after only 8k miles of cam'ed use and 15k miles of total use.

Different materials and different heat treatments. The C5-R chain is made exclusively for Katech and sold through Katech parts dealers such as Lingenfelter, Thunder Racing, Scoggin Dickey, LG Motorsports, ECS, etc..
