So here is the question, I want to know a good rim choice to put on the rear at the track. I want some pretty decent sized meaty tires. Also how do I get around the TPMS? Can it be defeated by going into Comp mode, or by holding the button?
A lot of guys are going with a split rear wheel widened out to 10.5-11 in with a 305 drag radial on an 18 in tire. If you have a wideboyd kit you can go wider than that. You can then bring the tpms over to you new factory widened wheels and avoid that issue all together. The company that makes the wheels wider is called weldcraft. I believe it is about 400 buck per tire.
with base gearing I'd run as short and light of a tire as possible for maximum acceleration, if it's going to be strictly for the strip...275/40r17 on a 17x9.5 may not look the best, but will be the fastest if that's what your interested in...tpms will be fine for just making dragstrip passes if you haul the tires out there
