Default Trans Converter suggestions?

Suggestions for a converter for an 2005 (A4) I'm going to get a converter, I race it about two times a month and do drive it on the street..

I'm thinking of a 3000-3200 stall lock-up... I have 3:15 rear..

The three I'm thinking of are Vigilante, FTI, or Yank...I did have a Vigilante in my 96 and it had some problems of not locking up on the highway...

I'm leaning toward a Yank, FTI was suggested to me, but I am unfamiliar with it.. (anyone know) any info or suggestions would be appreciated...

I also bought a "stacked plate" cooler as opposed to a finned aluminum, as I had very good luck with that type...

One last question I have the Z51 so I "think" it already has a factory cooler in the radiator, but I will add the aftermarket one also.. question does my car have cooling lines running from the trans (at the rear) to the cooler up front.. ? Or maybe it don't have a trans cooler & I'll have to run the lines myself...

Anyone mount the trans cooler in the rear ???

its just a factory radiator cooler like any car lines in the radiator, i have a 3800, and had it with the 315 gears, it ran1162, on a verry hot 93 degree day with just headers vararam corsa exaust 3800 converter

I have a 2005 Z51 A4 with a Yank 3200 and 3.73 gears. My tranny temps never get over 205 right now. I'm looking at having HP Sales of Pompano install a cooler for me but I'm in no rush as temps to 225 are okay.

This was an awesome mod. My best time so far is a 12.052 at 113 with a 60ft of 1.773. That was my first time out with that setup.

Drives great around town and hauls as* at the track.

My '05 has a FLT Stage5 A4 trans w/ cooler. Nothing wrong with the OEM A4, but I wanted something that would never fail.

I had the 3.15 performance package but decided to upgrade to 3.73 gears with a 2800 stall converter which flashes to 3600. I like it to grab early and stay locked all the way up. This is absolutely killer!

I would go 3200 (or maybe higher).

I have a Vigilante 3200 in my A6 and it works/performs very well.
If I were to ever switch converters though I might consider giving FTI a shot as I've heard good things about them. I drove a 'light bolt ons' 2005 C6 A4 with an FTI 3000 stall in it and 3.15 gears and it was strong (11.3s at over 119mph in good air at full weight).
Maybe ask Ellis or Edgar about the FTI converter as I think they're both using them in their (higher powered) C5 A4 cars.
