I've got an 08 Z51 with 7k miles. I recently herd and felt a slight poping sound from the front. It was very slow speed and about 80% full right on the wheel. I was able to duplicate. Best bet was the left front wheel but it could have been both. No other troubles. Any ideas. Wheel bearings maybe. Anybody else had this problem.
Are you sure it came from the front? The reason I ask is that when my diff was cold it would "popped" real loud coming out of the driveway(sharp turn) and then chatter until I drove for a bit and it warmed up. Eventually they changed the fluid and so far no issues. Good luck.
One thing that people report as "noises in the front when going slowly and the wheels are turned a lot" is the sound of one tire being dragged across the ground as a result of the different turning radii up front. But that's usually a cold weather thing so the tires are hard and thje pavement isn't sticky. I wouldn't think it would be cold enough there at this time of the year for this to be an issue. And it should go away as the tires warm up.
I had a similar issue which was also noticed at 0mph, turning the wheel back and forth. It turned out to be worn out and/or dislodged steering rack bushings.
Researching also told me that bad front end links could cause popping noises.
