Trouble shifting in S-mode only!

Hi, When in S-mode (and only in S-mode with or without using the paddles) my transmission hangs between 4th and 5th gears. Under heavy throttle it almost acts as if it's momentarily hitting 3rd gear as it will really wind up before shifting to 5th (doesn't hit rev limiter). At less aggressive acceleration it will make a whining noise right before shifting to 5th. Has anyone experienced problems with their A6 transmission like this, and if so, what caused it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Fluid was a bit dark, but no metal or plastic in it. Shifts great in D-mode. Help!

Mine is having similar issues with 3-4-5 shifts. Dealer called the engineer and the tranny has to come out to look at seals, clutches, and the torque converter.
