Default caliper removal

Is there an easy way to remove the caliper from the rotor when the rotor is "dished"and the caliper hangs up on the outside edge of the rotor?

Since the rotor seems trashed anyway why cant you pry between the pad and rotor to free it? Even if its not you can still pry it carefully.

I would probably use a large C clamp with a bock of wood on the back of the caliper. Put the one end of the C clamp on the break pay and the other around the back on the wood against the caliper then tighten slowly. This will force the pisten back end and should free things up.

I was wondering if I opened the bleeder valve on the caliper then attempted to squeeze the caliper by hand by pressing on the outside face of the caliper if that might work. I always bleed the entire system when I replace the pads anyway.

no you would need to pull out on the back side. a C clamp with the screw end on the outside pad and the anvil on the back of the caliper is the easiest way it'll take a big one though may be 8" or so harbour freight should have one cheap
