Default Trunk won"t open

Today went out and washed my 08 vert and vacuumed the interior and trunk. When I tried to open the trunk via the fob or the button on the dash....nada, ( I have a manual trans) the tail lights blink but the trunk will not open. I opened it using the key and looked for any loose wires that may have been knocked loose but couldn't see anything. Any suggestions other than taking it to the dealer?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

I assume the buttons have worked in the past - is that right?

Did the button above the license plate work???

Was the engine running when you tried to open it with the buttons?

If the engine is running, you've got to have the parking brake pulled on(at least that's the way it works for the hatch on my coupe, and I suspect the same for the trunk on the vert).

There is a fuse and a relay in the passenger footwell fuse/circuit breaker block. Take a look at the picture below:

That picture is of my 2006 Z06. The first couple years of the Z06 used the exact same manual latch as the vert. The base coupe and the later Z06 have an auto pull down latch.

So....I think you'll have the same configuration of your fuses as in that picture.

Good luck!!

Bob

Sometimes the button is stuck because it's dirty...at least with mine...
