Default P0430 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2 Code Back

Well i thought after i cleared it a week ago i was ok. But a week later and 125 miles later its back. Might be a bad 02 sensor. I hate taking it to the dealer. About 2000 miles ago i added a NPP exhaust to the car. The flaps are open all the time. Wonder if that has anything to due with the code

There is a TSB on this and it involves having your ecm reflashed. Leave the code on and go to the dealer.

It's very likely an 02, but in the unlikely chance that it's a cat, they are covered under the Federal Emission Warranty for 8/80

swap your right and left rear 02 sensors, if the code changes, its the sensor, if it doesnt, its the cat.

I had NPP opened from day one, not a problem. As mentioned earlier it sounds like either a rear O2 or a cat. I don't take my car to the dealer anymore and it only has 7500 miles on it, so I don't blame you there. You can swap the rear O2's and see if you get the code for the other bank. If you do you need a new O2 senosr, if not then it looks like the cat which would be covered for the federal emissions time period.

Has anyone swapped their O2 sensors after getting this code?

Looks like the TSB is for Z06's only. I have an '08 convertible.

I started getting this code a few weeks after putting headers on. I've cleared it a couple times, but it keeps coming back. I know you can tune it out, but I'm wondering if it might be the O2 sensor itself. If I get motivated enough, I might get under the car and swap sensors, unless someone else has done this already.
