The dealer I had the car at gave up and refunded me every penny they charged me. The service writer said the tech believes it's in between the BCM and ECM and didn't want to mess with it anymore. The tech has 30+ years with Chevy.....

The car is currently @ Corvette Mike's in Anaheim. I talked to one of the techs there, he said he's never heard of this happening to anyone before but said he has bypassed the "shift to park" function on 05 A4s. I asked him to try and do the same on my car. He believes it's a matter of adjustment or something because it will register in reverse after multiple tries, but never on the first. I'll know more next week.....

Corvette Mike's is a good shop and has been around a long time. Good luck and keep us posted.

Any update on this? I'm working on a 2005 that all of a sudden just decided it didn't want to start anymore.
