I just purchased my first corvette about 3 weeks ago. Its a 2007 Z51 6-speed. I have noticed this past week that I am having difficulty downshifting. Whether I am in 4, 5, or 6, when I need to shift down to 2 or 3, it takes several tries and a little bit of force to get it into gear (clutch it always fully depressed). I don't have any trouble getting into first from 2 or 3 at very low speeds though.
I've only noticed it lately and I'm a little worried something might be wrong with the transmission or the synchros (the car only has 21.5k miles). Could it be that I just need some trans fluid? I have never owned a manual before but I am familiar with driving them and have never encountered this before.
I just bought this car and I don't want expensive transmission problems! Please help!

If you're skipping gears & downshifting as you wrote, from 4th, 5th or 6th to 2nd or 3rd, unless you do a bit of double clutching or rev matching, you will have difficulty getting past the synchros. If you shift down one gear at a time, you probably are not finding any resistance. If you're in 5th or 6th & want to go down to say 3rd, rev the engine a bit as you depress the clutch & I'll bet she'll slip right into the lower gear. Since you've never driven stick before, I suspect that's the issue versus any mechanical problem.
