i always check under the hood when i wash the car....this time i noticed some brake fluid on the plastic reservoir and it was spread around the opening about 1 inch out and around the opening. it was enough for me to have to wipe it off the reservoir. the brakes work great by the way. i am going to keep an eye out on the reservoir and the fluid level is full.
This is the first time I noticed the leak...it stuck out like a sore thumb.
i did not add any fluid....the cap was tight...nobody had the car.
Car is 2007, 40k and the only problems were 1 tpms and rear dif fluid change.
Only a guess but since you said the cap was tight I'm thinking it is wicking out via a deteriorating gasket........and if that's the case moisture could also be getting in. See what others say but I suggest new cap/gasket and flush/refill the system with nice new fluid.
