I have a set for the strip. Looking for a set that runs QUIET. Smooth would be a plus too. My car is an '08 coupe. I'd use RF's if they can get the job done. I'd rather not have to spend $2K either. Help appreciated.
i have been running on nitto invos for about 8,000 miles. quiet, and a softer ride than the runflats. i dont think i will get more than about 15,000 miles from them, but i also only paid about $900.

For very quiet tires, like a Rolls Royce in 1955, you want a tread with ONLY circumferential grooves, and NO cross grooves or angle grooves at all. Get your self some slicks and an electric tire regrooving iron, and make your own ? ? ?
Or see the local tire retreader on the other side of the tracks in the industrial part of town . . . .

Thanks for that bit of "wisdom". I actually want it all. Quiet, smooth, handles like on rails, 30K mile tread life, grips like a gorilla on a fresh bananna, etc. I know that's just not really realistic. So.....with a set of tires on it now that do well going 2X the speed limit, I'm looking for another set that will do well on a long road trip, when going fast isn't the main priority. Is that so bad? My vette has 650+ rwhp. It's the sat. nite date ride and also our "economy" car. 25mpg on trips.

Personally, I use a circular saw with a 24 tooth carbide tip blade...amazingly fast.

good luck
I got 33,000 and still had 4 32nds left when I bought another set. You gotta be really hard on tires to get less than 25,000.
Well, I'll put my flame suit on, but about 2 days after putting on my new runflat Michelins, I rode 2000 miles or so (to alabama and around). Quiet, comfortable, new, good handling. I tried to recall if the original and replacement GY Supercars were as quiet, and I don't think so, by just a small amount. I also tried to recall if the ride was about the same. Again, I don't think so; I thnk these tires "feel" a little softer. I don't know how long they will last.
The problem or limiting factor is the 650 RWHP. Invo's will not hold that power. The best way to handle it permanently is an adj Coil over and Nitto NT05's. They can be tricky in the rain but not scary. The Coil Overs can be adjusted to full soft or there abouts.
