Hey guys i just recently purchased an 07 Zo6 and am having an issue with the TCS, i can only turn it on and off it wont go into any other modes... i have been able to get it in comp mode once or twice but most of the time its only on or off, could it just be the button or possibly more serious?
Yes the rims are stock and tires are probably still the originals from the factory. I've hit the button multiple times and even tried pressing it as fast as I can and all that does is go Tcs on and off rapidly but won't go into any other mode, I know on my C5 u had to hold it down to get Comp mode so I tried that as well and still nothing...
Maybe I'm not understanding your question but there are only 3 choices, on, off and comp mode (t/c off).
One push of the button turns off TC.
A second push of the button puts the AH in the Comp Mode (AH is still on, but less intrusive).
Push and hold the button down for something like 10 seconds and TC and AH will both be completely off.
From the owner's manual:
Active Handling System
The Active Handling System is a computer controlled
system that helps the driver maintain directional control
of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions. This is
accomplished by selectively applying any one of the
vehicle’s brakes.
Traction Control System (TCS)
Your vehicle has a traction control system called TCS
that limits wheel spin. This is especially useful in slippery
road conditions. The system operates only if it senses
that the rear wheels are spinning too much or are
beginning to lose traction. When this happens, the
system works the rear brakes and reduces engine power
(by closing the throttle and managing engine spark) to
limit wheel spin.
Competitive Driving Mode
The driver can select this optional handling mode by
pressing the ACTIVE HANDLING button on the console
two times within a five second time period.
COMPETITIVE DRIVING MODE will be displayed in the
DIC. Competitive Driving Mode allows the driver to have
full control of the rear wheels while the Active Handling
System helps maintain directional control of the vehicle
by selective brake application. This involves less
intervention than with both the Active Handling System
and Traction Control Systems on. The instrument cluster
light will not be on. The Traction Control System will not
be operating. Adjust your driving accordingly.
Ill give it another shot tonight but I've tried holding it down
For 10 seconds or so to get into Comp mode and for some reason it won't... Hopefully its just operator error
As a matter of fact the front left pressure sensor was out when I bought the car... Do u think that would really cause it to not allow me to go into comp mode?

Absolutely!!!!!
The system is designed to protect you in the event of a loss of pressure.
If you don't have tire pressure sensors installed, they aren't properly programmed into the TPMS computer in the car, or if a sensor is inop, you'll have exactly he problem you're experiencing.
