Default shift light

i aparently need a shift light on my 2011 GS. the rev limiter comes up way too fast in 1st gear. the motor just doesn't quit pulling. i've used the autometer shift-lite #5330 on other cars with good effect. has anyone installed one on a C6? i cant find install instructions on their website and was hoping someone here had experence. mostly i was wanting to know if it would interface with the electronics and how difficult the install was.

Well, first here's a pretty neat one by member SinisterC6:

I found about 80 threads on shift lights. If you want to research, click on Search in the red menu bar above, click on "Advanced Search", at the top left under Search by Keywords enter ""shift light"" with the double quotes. At the lower right under Search in Forums click on "C6 Corvette, 2005 - ????", press Search Now.

Have fun.

Is that all you want? I have a shift light (2 red diodes at top of gauge), fuel trims (short & Long) reader, IAT reader, DTC reader/clearer, MAF readings KR, and most all of the PIDs from the ECM and 2 analog connectors which can be wideband O2 or Fuel Pressure or whatever.

Aeroforce Gauge.

I have a Raptor shift light in my car and love it. It's small and bright and reasonbly priced. Plus you don't need any boxes or additional items to make it work.

That really is overkill on a stock car. You'll get used to the sound and feel of the car if you drive it long enough.

Select one of the two track modes on your HUD, that will provide you with an "Up Arrow" on the display when it's time to shift

I have the TrackMate Progressive Light. Love it. Mounted it on the top of steering column with a bit of double sided tape.

I used a Harlan shift light in my old 01 Z28. Worked great and excellent price.

The HUD has an upshift indicator arrow that comes on just before redline.

Works well. I've used it at the strip and did just fine, although if you don't pay attention it will sneak up on you and bounce off the rev limiter, and there goes your run. But I'd never do that....
