I am a C5 owner and a good friend of mine has a 2007 Z06 that he rarely (3000 miles) drives and has offered to sell it to me. I am interested but he also confided in me that he is on his third battery!
That makes perfect sense. We are in a part of the country that experiences winter, so I even store my C5 for several months. Can the battery on the C6 Z06 be disconnected for storage without causing any problems?
I have a disconnect switch on the negative terminal so I have the battery disconnected all the time. The only settings that need reset are the clock and window index.
Just keep it on a Battery Tender when you are not driving it and you will be fine. I use one on every car I own that is stored. The current battery in my 85 Corvette is almost 9 years old and it is as good as the day I put it in. I just drove the car on a 200 mile round trip with no problems.

My 2005 is on it's third battery after only 27,000 miles. I started using a small, cheap float charger on this one.
This is a very small unit designed only to maintain a charged battery and not to charge up a dead one. I got mine at Harbor Freight for a few $ but you can find these at a number of retail and on-line shops.
