You'll get alot of answers here. I have been running 600RWHP in mine for about 10K with no issues.

I have heard that 650-700 RWHP, expect to start having issues with the A6, although it has proven to be pretty tough in most applications.

Luckly, a few companies are starting to come out with some A6 mods.

I'm guessing that's 10k miles. not $?

You're right about a lot of answers but I thought 550 rwhp was the accepted safe limit, for "heavy use" anyway. Am I that far off?

Anyway, I'm sure LS1LT1, Spinmonster or TheSubfloor will come by and clarify.

You have an LS7 and a clutch in front of a 6spd Auto trans?

Okay, I was hoping for a misunderstanding. Thought you might have a hot new setup. 677 whp must be sweet.

I think that might be in the general 'range' of what an A6 can handle but there are so many other factors/contributors to considers. With the right level/form of abuse and/or bad tuning I believe that one could blow up an A6 with only 400rwhp while another person who never races/never launches their car on sticky tires could possibly see it survive over 700rwhp.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was thinking.

I guess we need a little more info from the OP about what he intends to do with HIS A6.

You should be fine, might get your shift points tuned but other than that I dont think 440rwhp is anything to stress over. I had 571rwhp on my A6 for over a year before my motor blew.

The A6 is rated for, iirc, 460 ft/lbs. Above that, it's a crap shoot. :P

i broke one with less than 400 RWHP but all it turned out to be was the clutches let go. this was from racing it quite a bit pulling several 1.5-1.6 60's and my tune wasnt spot on so that hurt me also.

make sure your tune is just right and you should be fine

good luck

IF you are just going to be street driving, there should be no problems. Drag racing with DR is simothing else. Spinning tires on the street will help longivity for trans.

Wouldnt put to much stock on the GM rating...just over 400rwhp and you are already touching that.
