I have a CAI Lingerfelter, X pipe Corsa Sports on a C6-06 LS2. What would you guys recommend for performance gains, or what type of tune programmer. If I may asked what kind of gains should I expect. I stopped by the Dyno shop today and they told me to put it on the dyno first to see if i even need a tune at all. I said ok. He said sometimes you may can gain a little from a tune or you might even gain 20 or 30 HP. I'm not sure how to take that. If I'm gaining HP would that mean the car was not tune to it full potential, or would I be gaining more than the specified manufactures HP from the factory. I'll take any feed back. He did tell me he dyno a C6-07 stock with 329hp at rear wheel. Does that sound right? thanks guys

I'm no expert so FWIW, the prevailing wisdom is, a dyno tune is by far the best way to go. The "canned" tuners are necessarily compromises. To learn about all things tuning, I suggest you spend time in the Scan and Tune Forum. Just to get you there and give you an example of your stock HP question, here's a thread that's running over there. Good luck.

from what I've read, 329 is low. I don't think I've read of one at that number.

if your car is seriously out of tune, and these parts have some effect (which they do, but usually except for the X pipe, the rest are considered only minimally additive without other changes such as headers, cam, etc.), then you may see a rise like they told you. otherwise, I think it will be a minimal improvement.

but the suggestion to put it on the dyno to see how it performs with what it's got is probably not a bad idea at all. at least it give you two pieces of info: is your car ok now as it is tuned, and what is your current power/torque?

I would get a $300 street tune. You will be able to tell the difference.

Do not buy a handhled tuner. Spend your money wisely and see a reputable tuner in your area. Don't do a mail order "cookie cutter" tune either.

is the car a manual or an auto? if its an auto A6 then the dyno #s are about right but if its a manual then it should be about 355 or so. your best bet for a tune would be to get a good tuner to do a dyno tune.
