05 base. This morning car would not respond to hatch button press (on car) or FOB unlock request. Switched FOBs...same result. Upon using the emergency hatch key unlock, alarm started to sound and FOB began to work. HUD, DIC and radio were reset almost as if they battery were dead. Was able to crank car and drive away....
Pretty odd....any thoughts? Battery voltage looked fine today (between 13 and 14 volts.) No other issues since.
How old is the battery? Electrical misbehavior is frequently caused by a bad battery, even one that "seems" to be good. If you don't want to run out and buy a new one right away you should at least have the current one properly load tested. A member in General just posted tonight that his electrical gremlins, including 35 error codes, was ultimately traced to an "inferior" ($40) battery that had been installed by a family member when he was out of the country. The battery tested as good but was determined to not have sufficient power for the Vette. With installation of a new stock Delco battery everything is fine.
13 - 14 volts is the voltage produced by the alternator when the engine is running...not the battery voltage. Low battery voltage can certainly cause this behavior.
Dump the battery before it drives you nuts, no battery is worth the worry over if it's going to work.
Wally's worlds battery's work great and are way less than national brand names and last just as long, I have been using them for years without problems.

There are only a very few companies that actually manufacture batteries. Johnson Controls makes the ones at WalMart and they are less expensive and work fine.

They also make AutoZone, Advance, Interstate, AC-Delco and Motorcraft., to name a few.
