Default Additional mods suggestions

I am looking for some suggestions on some more bolt on mods that won't break my bank account. I would like to try to gain maybe another 30 HP, would be nice for my road racing! Here are the current mods for my 2008 A6 Z51 vert:

Haltech CAI
Kooks Headers and X-pipe
224/228 .580/.588 lift 114 LSA CAM
Tuned to death

Excellent choice of mods so far. If I had stayed n/a, that's about the cam I would have run with. You've already picked all of the low hanging fruit from tree of hp. You might add a ported t-body, but that won't net you near your 30hp goal. Ported heads would gain you a few but cost major bucks. You're at the point of diminishing returns. Bigger cam, but that would cost some pretty major bucks and hurt your drivability. F/I, but that would seriously hurt your go fast budget even more. Kinda gets back to the "speed = money" equation. How fast do you want to go?

Thanks "old motorhead". I know it is tuff without a major cam change. Any do different heads, I thought I remember someone using L92 parts or something like that? I see FAST's newer intake for LS3 only gets you 8-10 max with headers, can't believe that number for $900, crazy. Anyone else got some more opinions, maybe new/ported throttle body, port heads and or intake?

The heads you have now are essentially the same as L92 heads. Ported or FAST intake, ported t-body along with ported heads might get you close to 30 rwhp. Spin's LS3 cam alone might get you there. Personally, I'd start saving coin for a centrifugal blower setup. With the mods you already have, adding a centri would make crazy hp while retaining the drivability you have now.

I would love to do a blower but I track the car and would never be able to keep the temps down out here in AZ, lol.

I would say ported intake. I got one(staged 2) from Jeremy(forum member), and while I do not know squat about them, it sure impressed my tuner. Of course, I also got the T/B, but no real HP here.
A MGW shifter....I like. I hear it gives you 15 rwhp.(lol)

What gears are in your car now? 3.42? A set of 3.90's wont actually give you any power but they will make your car noticeably quicker for relatively cheap. There is also the option of 3.73's or 4.10's depending on what suits you the best.

The car is an A6 and has Z06 diff in it so it is 3.42 which is insane enough, 1st and 2nd is already usless with 420 HP, LOL.

You should absolutely do a new converter and better tires. An auto isn't fun to drive until it's got a good converter in it

I already have Toyo R888's so I am good there. I have thought about doing a converter but I spend most of the race at 3000 RPM or more and don't really know how much that would help?

You need a rollbar! Fast verts aren't allowed on tracks, so that would be where your energies should be focused.
Since you road course, what brakes are you using?

Rollbar is in the works already and will be in soon. I am using the Z51 brakes with carbotech pads, it is an awesome combo.

A converter helps everywhere.

I assume you only do roll racing or road race events then?

Thanks for the info, I run HPDE's. 2 short tracks and 1.1 and 1.3 miles and 2 larger ones at 1.8 and 2.8 miles.
