Default HELP!: Need Solutions to Pass (Foreign) Emissions

2010 GS with:

ECS 1500 Blower, and tune

ARH long tubes, high flow cats, and x-pipe mated to stock non-NPP exhaust.

Running 98 RON gas with methanol injection

i live in China and need to pass emissions, which (i think) are Euro level 4 standards (i need a 0.2 on the CO test, currently blowing a 0.6.)

I'm looking for somebody who can provide a solution. Not sure if it's mechanical (new cats) or a tune (prefer not to do this), or what. I was thinking of a pair of modded factory cats (not necessarily corvette) that could bolt-in in place of the hi-flow cats and x-pipe. Not sure if this would work though. The idea is simply to pass the test, so the solution can be over engineered for emissions. Once I get my registration - it's coming off, so it doesn't have to be pretty and performance is not an issue. I'm no mechanic, so I don't really want to attempt to fit the manifolds and stock cats back on. And besides, with the ECS tune, I don't know that this would make it emissions compliant anyway. If I can just bolt in a pair of custom super-cats that would be best.

Here are my requirements:

1. Needs to be guaranteed to hit the desired emissions standards (can't afford to ship parts back and forth - it's got to be right the first time).

2. Needs to be bolt-on, using hand tools (i have to install it) Preferably AFTER the headers (I'll be doing it on jackstands, but may have access to a lift.).

3. Needs to be installed and uninstalled without modifications (cutting, grinding, etc.) to the original setup (bolt-on); meaning I can get back to my original set up once I pass the emissions test (I don't want to have to retune or buy new parts.)

4. Shipped, any individual container can be no bigger than one meter in any one dimension and no more than 70 lbs (has to ship through the DPO).

5. Has to be affordable. This is a throw away mod that I'm doing simply because i don't have the luxury of bribing my way past the test.

Anybody who thinks they can help, please send me a PM. Thanks - mark

The x-pipe is a pain to swap. You pretty much have to take the headers off (you have to loosen all the bolts almost all the way out). I think the easiest is buying HP tuners or whatever ECS uses and flashing a smog tune. That way you don't even have to pull the ECU out.

Thanks for the replies guys. so Hippo you think a smog tune would do the trick? with HP tuners could i download the current ECS tune, then upload a smog tune and get the vehicle tested, then reload the ECS tune? anybody want to program me a smog tune given my set up? what's that usually cost? (forgive my ignorance, i obviously know nothing about tuning.)

if it's possible to go the mechanical route, with bigger cats, i was planning on taking my mufflers off anyway to do the "drill holes in the stock muffler exit pipe" mod. so, i can easily disassemble the exhaust up to the headers.
