I have lg's with cats, xpipe, running through stock (non-npp mufflers). Would like to get a set of stock npps, but it sounds great the way it is now. Got about 50 hp from them, maybe a tad less, but I am very happy. I got the headers, tune, plugs, wires, and intake. Gearing is next. Car rides great. Very drivable then lots of power when you get on it. Can't wait for the next mod.
Which LG header? I have NPP. There are a part out for sale
shopping on ebay and found some from mirage motorsports for like 450$ with the off road x pipe. They claim to be sus304 stainless steel, anyone heard of them ? Also will having no converters make any lights come on or anything or should I just get off road converters ?
FYI, no headers for the C6 are CARB (California air resources board) approved. When your first smog check comes due you could fail the visual test.
You're correct, but there are various ways around this. My other car has intake, headers, etc. It passed the emissions test just fine. Some shops will "overlook" the visual inspection. CARB sucks.
You put the car on a dyno and didn't have it tuned?
it was literally a spur of the moment thing. i wasn't even planning on stopping by, but i did to say "hi" to a friend and he just wanted to see what #s I was putting up. I thought it was cool, but I ended up being about 30min late to work
tune will be coming once i pay off the holiday debt
1) LG Super Pro headers-very expensive, but the only ones that truly have 32" long primaries to improve TQ throughout the whole power curve. Great for bragging rights and most will agree, if price isn't an issue....they are the best. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1280&bih=605
2) American Racing-only slightly cheaper than LG style and they don't have 32" primaries. The quality in fit and finish is GREAT though!
There have been fitment issues come up with almost all of the big-name headers. The general issue is that the X-pipe doesn't line up perfectly straight...it takes about 30-45 minutes for a muffler shop to either cut a bit off or weld a bit of tubing on to straighten it all out.
My longtubes on my C6 aren't OBX...I was just saying that I've seen OBX putting out good results for quite a while on LS1tech and on a few C6s. I was going to do OBX longtubes on my WS6, but then decided to sell it.
