If the car is stock (no mods) why replace the half shafts? How hard a launch ?
The A6 should be fine even with a higher than stock stall speed converter. If you mod a M6 you may need to upgrade the suspension/tires to deal with wheel hop. The rear would most likely go before the half shaft.
Strkd is a cam, bolt on, nitrous ls3 m6 on drag radials. He meant stock as in he has stock halfshafts. I told him best bang for buck is c5z halfshafts unless he wants to spend like $1200 on a pair from ecs. Not sure what other options there are.
The axles in the diff would most likely break before a CV joint halfshaft will.... but as stated already, the C5Z halfshafts are supposed to be stronger and will slip right in there.

I have a beefed up diff with 300M shafts and gears.. When I launched at 4k it broke the carrier hub and possibly jacked the left half shaft too.. Just wanted to put somethin better back in it if I have to replace it anyway..
