That message indicates an electrical or other system problem. Your dealer may need to delve a little deeper than just the code reader. I would run through all the displays, options, HVAC configs, settings, etc, and see if you notice anything not working correctly. In my mind there are only two possibilities: Either it is correctly detecting and reporting a problem OR a sensor/computer is sending a false signal. Either way, it needs to be resolved. I have not seen a similar report on CF that comes to mind. There are things that could cause it but codes should have appeared for those. Low/weak batteries cause strange things, always eliminate that first. Not much help I know, good luck with tracking it down.
I'm suspicious of the stiff steering. I'm going to try to get it to the dealer when the message is present & have them check the modules. The official C6 list of DIC messages is not helpfull. The problem showed up several months ago and went away. It just came back yesterday & required a second reset, then stayed clear for the rest of the trip. I also just re tightened the gas cap and will fully charge the battery when I get back from golf today. Thanks
this morning I'm going to disconnect & reconnect the battery. I don't see how it can hurt & there may just be some electrical confusion in the logic for the speed sensitive steering. I have an appointment at the dealer next week. They have a good certified tech.
