Default LS2 Engine Temp

I just had my radiator flushed and all new anti-freeze installed, my engine idle temp is up around 210-216, is that normal or a little hotter than usual?

Hotter than normal. Make sure all the air is out of the system.

Sitting at idle the fan will not come on at that temp. I suspect you are seeing a normal temp. Get the car out on the road and drive at highway speeds for 10 minutes or so and see if the temp settles in around 195. At idle your temps could go as high as 240 degrees before the fan turns on to cool the engine.

This is correct. The stock fans don't kick in until ~228° with the A/C off. If you are running ~200° that is good at speed.

The PCM includes a table of % fan speed at various coolant temps.

With my 160° thermostat, I set the fans to come on at a lower coolant temp so it runs at ~180° all the time.

Yup... I had my computer reprogrammed to drag race, I have a 160 T-Stat... and my fan goes on at 196 deg. My car has never gotten over 205 even in 95 deg weather...

In normal driving, my temp is 178 - 185 ... if I am stopped for a long time (5-8 min) it will go to 196...never higher..
