My drivers side door does not seem to be working when I try to open it from the outside. At first I thought it may have been the key fob battery, but I changed it out and the problem persists; however, I can open the door from the inside. Has this happened to anyone else and is there an easy fix?
Sounds like you just need to clean out the contact pad (switch) on the outside. If you open the door, there are 2 philips screws to remove that hold the bracket on that holds the switch itself. Take out the screws and you should be able to slide the assembly out after unplugging the connector.
After you have it out, take it apart and get some 91% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, paper towels and q-tips. Put a bit of alcohol on the paper towels/q-tips and just clean all of the dirt/grime off, then let the alcohol dry and reassemble.
Alcohol is perfectly safe to clean electronics with (provided they are off), and it dries very quickly. You can get this done in around 20 minutes tops.
